Pat on the back for Mids

MID Annandale footballers have been rewarded for having the best disciplinary record in the South of Scotland.

The Lockerbie side finished the season with a total of 104 disciplinary points after having one player sent off and 32 cautions.

This compares with the 211 points amassed by Newton Stewart who had the worst record of the 13 league sides with eight sent off and 51 bookings.

Mids secretary George Trudt received the Discipline Trophy at the annual general meeting of the Southern Counties FA.

Mr Trudt said the improvement in discipline had been due to the hard work of their manager Ally Sloan.

Fleet Star, who had the best record last season, finished second best with 109 points made up of four sendings off and 28 bookings
